Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone.

The Aviation Pavilion at KVPZ is getting an overhaul! EAA Chapter 104 is adding a bay to the pavilion to better serve the aviation community at events this summer. Be especially sure to come join the Collings Foundation and EAA Chapter 104 for the Valparaiso Tour Stop of the Wings of Freedom Tour.
The Aviation Pavilion at Porter County Regional Airport is a community asset. Stop by, have lunch in the shade, and watch some aircraft operations at KVPZ. Get involved with your local aviation community!
Mark your calendars! Saturday Saturday June 15th @ 10AM! Stop by for some coffee, donuts and approaches! This seminar is presented by the Greater Chicago FAASTeam and is hosted by EAA Chapter 104. Register online.
Unstable approaches and the reluctance of many pilots to go-around when an approach becomes unstable are precursors to many general aviation accidents. Emphasizing stable approaches and making the decision to go-around are key to reducing landing accidents.

This Saturday May 4th @ 10AM! Stop by for some coffee, donuts and Mountain Flying! This seminar is presented by the DuPage FAASTeam and is hosted by EAA Chapter 104. Register online.
Flying in mountainous areas is challenging, not only because operational altitudes and winds are higher, but also because weather reporting and off airport landing opportunities are fewer than in other flight environments. This seminar, prepared by the Colorado Pilots’ Association, acquaints pilots with the challenges of mountain flying and offers suggestions for training and additional information. It is informational only and in no way prepares inexperienced pilots for flying in mountainous environments.
